Under the auspices of HE Prof. Dr. / Osama Bin Sadiq Tayeb - President of King Abdul Aziz University - with the participation of His Excellency the Executive Chairman of Saudi Electricity Company Engineer / Bin Saleh al-Barrak, The University of King Abdulaziz is organizing a ceremony to inaugurate the activities of the scientific chair subsidized by the Saudi Electricity Company for Demand Side Management and Energy Efficiency at nine a. m on Wednesday, 2 Dhulgaeda 1430H corresponding October 21, 2009. At the Hall of ceremonies and conference center at the university.
The scientific chair aims to participate in developing appropriate solutions of Demand Side Management and Energy Efficiency in order to achieve sustainable development objectives for the nation, it is hoped, by Allah’s willing, that the chair will provide several programs that will reduce power consumption without affecting type and quality of work and performance particularly during peak periods, as it will contribute in reducing cost of construction and operation as required for the construction of power plants and new transmission and distribution networks.
A workshop at 10:15 on Wednesday, Dhulgaeda 1430H corresponding October 21, 2009. The aim of this workshop is to provide an opportunity for experts and consumers and those responsible for electricity in Saudi Arabia meet together to exchange experiences and views and discuss topics related to the management of the demand for DSM and methods and technologies that can be followed to achieve this with a review of some of the experiences of global and national programs in this area. This workshop will be attended by a constellation of specialists and experts in this vital area, where invitations will be extended to academics from the university and engineers from the Saudi Electricity Company, and a group of businessmen; This was stated by Dr. / Ibrahim Bin Mohammed Jomaah – the supervisor of the scientific chair and development and planning of the university campus.
