Summary of the Scientific Chair

Energy demand management is known as a set of regulatory programs made by companies (electricity) in collaboration with consumers of energy. These programs aim to reduce and modify patterns of energy consumption for the benefit of consumers and producers of electricity, and society in general. Hence the importance of the role of both electricity companies, as well as consumers in the management of energy demands. There is no doubt that the consumer plays a vital role in the programs of power management, which has a real saving in real electricity bills and many other features such as keeping the electricity tariffs low, reduce environmental pollution, increase national income, reliability of running the electricity network and contribute to economic growth which requires large amounts of electrical energy. Accordingly, the Scientific Chair will work on the scientific development of appropriate solutions for Demand Side management and energy efficiency and develop appropriate solutions that serve the Saudi Electricity Company as well as the consumer.
The Scientific Chair submits many different programs which include a range of procedures carried out by the electricity company in cooperation with consumers and which lead to reduce the rate of power consumption without affecting the quality of work and performance particularly during peak periods (during a specific time of the year). One of these programs is” The summer reduction and the adaptable changing tariff “." Both of these programs represent maintain forces for consumers of industrial and commercial sectors (which will be concentrating on them in this study). The two programs also help the Electricity Company as well as integration with the programs available to them to reduce consumption during the peak period.
The study also provides a set of programs that result in reducing power consumption through optimal use of energy. Thus the scientific chair provides an advanced study to increase the efficiency of lighting, as well as the efficiency of the air-conditioning system.
The study will address the work of auditing the power base in the industrial and commercial sectors based on real data taken from the field. It also requires the work of scientific analysis and careful consideration of the data recorded in the field that are recorded by sensitive electronic devices of high accuracy. Results will be formulated in a form that can be used by raising the efficiency of electric power without affecting on the quality of work and performance
